The Bamboo Shoots enjoyed a cracking start to their new campaign soaring to a 38-27 victory over Silhouettes tonight in their friendly against the St Austell-based team. It was a chance to try out new combinations and fresh players giving Bryony Marie and Niki Bellenger a lot to consider moving forward. Our trainee umpire, Claire Baldock came under the scrutiny of Cornwall's Lead Umpire Debbie Ashworth and was a credit to the club gaining the confidence of her mentor and assessor. Special thanks to Lucy Taylor for scoring and Tiffany Sweet for timing. Well done to the Bamboo Shoots and thank you to Silhouettes for such a sporting match - we look forward to our return game on Monday July 24 at Tregorrick Leisure Centre.
